UNCERTAINTY TO SURGERY ASSISTANT AT VANDERBILT
Jessica came to UpRise with big gaps in her employment history and a desire to change her life. She quickly earned her classmates’ admiration for her caring attitude and sense of humor. After obtaining her Medical Assistant certification and graduating from UpRise, Jessica landed her dream job as a Medical Assistant at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
RAMY - LEFT A PIZZA
DELIVERY JOB BEHIND TO GET HIS CDL
Ramy worked hard as a pizza delivery driver before coming to UpRise, but the hours and pay left him little time to spend with his young wife and young daughter. Ramy was a leader in Training Camp and a source of encouragement to his fellow students. He studied for and obtained his Commercial Driver’s License at United Truck Driving School in Murfreesboro. He now works for Nashville MTA.
KEONA - FROM FOOD
SERVICE TO AN OFFICE JOB WITH BENEFITS
Keona is a single mom of three young boys. She left a third shift job in food service at the airport and joined UpRise so she could work in a corporate environment with advancement opportunities and see a brighter future for her family. During her time at UpRise, Keona completed her Microsoft Office certificate and obtained a job at the corporate offices of Postmates with benefits, paid vacation and even stock options. Her new career also gives her time for her most important job: mom to her precious boys.
